Name of the College and its register
The regulator for psychologists in Ontario is now styled the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO). Older links to cpo.on.ca now lead to cpbao.ca, and the register search page itself still carries the heading “College of Psychologists of Ontario”, so you may see either name. Its register covers psychology and applied behaviour analysis, and the search has Psychology, ABA and All options.
The CPBAO register search form offers:
- Search fields on the public register: first name, last name (or corporation name), city and postal code
- An “Exact Match?” option and a member status filter
- Filters for members authorized to provide services and members with an academic certificate
CPBAO’s register page warns that the College is the only organization authorized by law to maintain the register, that register information changes over time, and that lists published by anyone else may be inaccurate or out of date. That is why this site does not copy or mirror register data.

Common reasons: before booking therapy or an assessment, checking a report author’s credentials for insurance, school, court or workplace purposes, or confirming whether someone using the title psychologist is registered.
Before you search
- Have the full legal name as printed on a receipt, licence or letter, and any other name the person uses.
- Note the city or clinic, which can help separate people with common names.
- If the register returns nothing, try other spellings and ask the CPBAO directly before drawing any conclusion.

A register entry reflects what the College holds on the date you look. It does not rate quality of care, and it is not a recommendation. If something looks wrong or out of date, contact the College.
