Worked example
A skier who wears US men’s 9 shoes. In the evo chart men’s 9 sits on the row with Mondopoint 27.5, so the converter returns 27.5. Measuring instead: a foot 27.3 cm long from heel to longest toe has a Mondopoint size of 27.3 cm, and the nearest half size is 27.5. Going back, Mondopoint 26.5 is US men’s 8 and US women’s 9.
How it works
Mondopoint is foot length. evo explains that ski boots are measured on a scale called Mondopoint, based on the length of your foot in centimetres. To measure, put your heel against a wall and measure from the wall to the end of your longest toe: that number in centimetres is your Mondopoint size.
The evo chart pairs US shoe sizes with Mondopoint in two columns for adults: Comfort Fit (roomier, for beginner to intermediate skiers) and Performance Fit (for intermediate to advanced skiers, one Mondopoint size smaller). This converter uses the Comfort Fit column. In the Comfort Fit column Mondopoint rises one size per shoe size on every adult row: men’s US 4 is 22.5 and US 15 is 33.5 (men’s size plus 18.5), women’s US 5 is 22.5 and US 12 is 29.5 (women’s size plus 17.5). For the Performance Fit size, subtract one Mondopoint size from the result; experts may go smaller still with a bootfitter. Kids’ rows are read straight from the chart (for example K8 is 15.5, K12 is 18.5, youth 3 is 21.5). evo itself says a shoe-size conversion works in a pinch but is approximate and not as accurate as measuring your foot, which is why the foot-length mode is here. For half shoe sizes the converter continues the chart’s one-for-one pattern.

FAQ
What is Mondopoint?
Ski boots are measured on a scale called Mondopoint, which is based on the length of your foot in centimetres. A Mondopoint size of 26.5 fits a foot about 26.5 cm long.
How do I convert my shoe size to ski boot size?
Use the evo chart pairs: US men’s 8 is Mondopoint 26.5, men’s 9 is 27.5, women’s 8 is 25.5 and women’s 9 is 26.5. evo says a conversion works in a pinch but is approximate and not as accurate as measuring your foot, so measure your foot if you can.
Should I size down for a performance fit?
evo lists two Mondopoint columns for adults. Comfort Fit is roomier and suits beginner to intermediate skiers; Performance Fit is one Mondopoint size smaller and suits intermediate to advanced skiers. This converter returns the Comfort Fit size, so subtract one Mondopoint size for Performance Fit. Experts may go smaller still with a bootfitter.
How do I measure my Mondopoint size?
Stand with your heel against a wall, then measure from the wall to the end of your longest toe in centimetres. That number is your Mondopoint size.
Is Mondopoint the same as boot sole length?
No. Mondopoint is a foot length. Boot sole length (BSL) is a measurement of the boot in millimetres that varies by model and is used when setting bindings. evo lists BSL per boot model in its own chart.
What if I am between sizes?
Boots come in half sizes and brands fit differently. Try the nearest half sizes and ask a boot fitter, who can assess the shell and last.
