Method and limits
Only bandwidth and web requests are priced; functions, builds, image optimisation, seats and other add-ons are ignored. Vercel Pro assumes the whole $20 usage credit goes to bandwidth and requests. Netlify uses the published credit rates (20 credits per GB of web bandwidth, 2 credits per 10,000 web requests); extra credits are bought in the packs listed for each plan ($5 for 500 on Personal, $10 for 1,500 on Pro) and the tool rounds up to whole packs. Netlify Pro starts at 3,000 credits; larger Pro tiers exist and are not priced here.
Vercel lists $0.15 per GB for Fast Data Transfer in the region shown on its pricing page (Washington, D.C.); rates vary by region, so edit the rate for yours. Vercel also offers Flat Rate CDN on Pro as an alternative to this usage-based pricing, which is not modelled. Both vendors change plans often: confirm on their pricing pages.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Vercel charge for bandwidth overage?
Vercel lists Fast Data Transfer at $0.15 per GB on its pricing page, plus $2.00 per million CDN requests. Pro teams spend a monthly $20 usage credit first, then pay on demand. Rates vary by region.
How does Netlify count bandwidth?
Netlify bills web bandwidth at 20 credits per GB and web requests at 2 credits per 10,000. Each plan includes a number of credits; once they run out, extra credits are bought in packs if auto recharge is on, or the project pauses.
What happens on the Hobby and Free plans?
Vercel Hobby lists 100 GB and 1,000,000 requests included, and Netlify Free has a 300-credit monthly limit. Neither charges overage; you upgrade or the project is limited.
Is this a full hosting comparison?
No. It prices bandwidth and requests only. Seats, builds, functions, images and add-ons change the real bill.
