Worked example

A $60 facial sold as buy 5, get 1 free: 6 sessions for $300 instead of $360. The discount is 60 / 360 = 16.67%, which is $50 a session. With $15 of supplies per session and 10% of sessions never used, you do 5.4 sessions of work: $300 - 5.4 x $15 = $219 profit, or $40.56 per redeemed session versus $45 on a single booking.

How it works

Buy X get Y free gives Y / (X + Y) off. Buy 5 get 1 is 16.67%, buy 3 get 1 is 25%, buy 10 get 2 is 16.67%. A flat package price is compared with sessions x single price.

Breakage is the share of prepaid sessions a client never books. It raises your profit because you keep the money without the cost, but treat it as a bonus rather than a plan, and it may be restricted where you operate.

Rules on expiry dates, refunds and prepaid services differ by province or state and by business type. Check your local consumer-protection rules before setting terms. This tool is arithmetic only.

How do I price a package?

Pick the per-session price you can afford, check it still covers cost per session with the margin you need, then multiply by the sessions. The calculator shows margin per session so you can see the floor.

Should I include breakage in my numbers?

It is optional. Leave it at 0% for a conservative view, or use your own history of unused sessions.

Does this work for lash fills, massage, laser and nail packages?

Yes. Any repeat service with a single price and a cost per session works the same way.
