Costing a service from the pack up
Supplies are bought in packs but used in small units. Dividing the pack price by the units in it gives a cost per unit, and multiplying by the units one service uses gives the cost per service. Listing every item, including the small ones, is what makes the number honest: gloves, swabs and pads add up across a day.
The waste allowance covers opened product that dries out, misapplied items and anything thrown away. The example items and prices are placeholders to show how the page works, not typical prices; replace them with your own invoices.
Use the result as the supplies figure in the salon service price calculator. For product mixed by weight, see the hair colour mixing ratio calculator.

FAQ
How do I calculate the cost per lash set?
List each item, divide its pack price by the units in the pack, multiply by the units one set uses and add the items together. Add a waste allowance on top.
Should I include gloves and small items?
Yes. Small items repeat on every client, so leaving them out understates your real cost.
What waste allowance should I use?
It depends on your products and speed. Start with a few percent and adjust it as you track what you really throw away.
