Shipment

This is a packing list only. It is not a commercial invoice or customs document. It has no values, HS codes or country of origin, so it cannot be used for customs clearance.

Cartons

Carton weight is the empty carton plus packing material. It is added to gross weight only.

Line items

Nothing is stored or uploaded. Export a CSV to keep your draft.

Totals

How the totals are worked out

Pieces = sum of item quantities. Net weight = sum of (quantity × unit weight). Gross weight = net weight + the weight of every empty carton you list. Each item is assigned to a carton number, so you also get pieces, net and gross weight per carton.

Everything is arithmetic on the numbers you type. The tool does not look up weights, and it does not check them against a scale. Weigh the packed cartons before you rely on the gross figure, and use the same unit throughout.

What a packing list is not

A packing list says what is in the shipment and how it is packed. A commercial invoice states the value and terms of sale, and customs paperwork has its own required fields that vary by country. This page produces none of those. Check the requirements of your carrier and the destination customs authority.

CSV format

One file holds everything, with columns type,ref,description,qty,unit_weight,length,width,height,tare. Rows of type meta, carton and item are read; anything else is ignored. Text starting with = + - or @ is prefixed with an apostrophe on export so spreadsheets do not run it as a formula.
