IRCC fees, looked up.
Every other tool in this section scores your eligibility — CRS, CLB, NOC, physical presence. This one answers the question none of them do: what the application actually costs, read straight off IRCC's own current fee schedule.
Economic-class permanent residence runs $1,590 per principal applicant (processing + Right of Permanent Residence Fee). A work permit is $155, a study permit $150, and citizenship (adult) is $653.

Most of these fees are non-refundable the moment processing starts — the one exception is the $600 Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) folded into the PR figure above. IRCC's own fee page says it will refund the RPRF "if you withdraw or we refuse your application," and calls it "the only fee that we can refund after we start processing your application." Every other fee on this table is spent whether the application succeeds or not.
The RPRF can be paid with the application itself, to avoid a delay once it's approved, or held back until IRCC actually approves the case — either timing is accepted. It also doesn't apply to everyone: dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, orphaned or adopted relatives sponsored under family class, and protected persons or convention refugees are all exempt from it, even though they still owe the underlying processing fee.

The 4 rows marked "flagged" (family-class, business/investor, protected persons, and permit-holders PR fees) come from CIC News/Fragomen reporting on IRCC's 30 April 2026 fee increase and were not individually re-checked against the schedule's own line items this session.
Frequently asked questions
Does the PR fee include the Right of Permanent Residence Fee?
Yes, for the economic-class figure shown ($1,590) — it's the combined processing fee plus the $600 Right of Permanent Residence Fee (ROPR). The ROPR is also listed separately since it applies on its own in some situations (e.g. paid later, or refunded and re-charged).
Do these fees include biometrics?
No — biometrics ($85 per person) is a separate, additional fee most applicants also pay, listed on its own row.
Are these fees per person or per family?
Per person, for the principal applicant, unless noted otherwise. Additional family members on the same PR application generally pay their own processing and ROPR fees.
