Manitoba's minimum wage is $16.00 an hour, in force since 1 October 2025. It rises to $16.40 on 1 October 2026.
The rate applies equally to everyone regardless of age or hours worked — Manitoba has no student, youth or server rate. Commission and flat-rate employees must reach at least minimum wage in every pay period, with the employer topping up.

Manitoba states that the minimum wage applies equally to all employees regardless of age or the number of hours they work — there is no student, youth or server rate. The rate is adjusted each 1 October to reflect the previous year’s inflation, rounded up to the nearest five cents. Fully excluded from the minimum wage: domestic workers who work less than 12 hours a week, people in an approved provincial or federal training programme, and temporary appointees under The Elections Act. Room and board deductions may not take an employee below minimum wage by more than $1 per meal and $7 a week for the room.

Incentive-paid employees such as commission salespeople and flat-rate mechanics must earn at least the minimum wage in each pay period, and the employer must top up any shortfall.
It is a per-period test, not an annual average, so a bad month cannot be offset against a good one.
Can my employer deduct room and board in Manitoba?
Only within limits. Deductions may not take an employee below minimum wage by more than $1 per meal and $7 a week for the room.
Manitoba also requires wages to be paid at least twice a month, within ten business days of the end of the pay period.
