The rate is updated every 1 April based on New Brunswick’s Consumer Price Index; the next figure has not been published, and the province launched a public consultation on the minimum wage in August 2026. Special rates exist for certain employees on government road, bridge and building construction and for counsellors and programme staff at residential summer camps, but the province does not publish those dollar amounts on its employment standards pages. Some people are outside the Act entirely, including those working in a private home for the homeowner, independent contractors, and in some situations people providing agricultural services to small family farms.
