Quebec has no student or youth rate — age makes no difference to the minimum wage. The tipped rate applies only to workers who usually receive gratuities in restaurants (excluding fast food where you pay before eating), licensed premises where alcohol is consumed on site, and tourist accommodation including campgrounds. Quebec normally announces the next rate early in the year for 1 May; the next figure has not been published.

Who gets the lower tipped minimum wage in Quebec?
Only workers who usually receive gratuities: staff in restaurants other than fast-food places where you pay before eating, in rooms where alcoholic beverages are served and consumed on site, and in tourist accommodation including campgrounds.
The lower rate is not a general restaurant rate. A kitchen worker who does not usually receive tips is on the general minimum wage.
Are tips counted toward the minimum wage in Quebec?
No. Tips belong to the employee and are on top of the wage. The tipped minimum of $13.30 is a lower wage floor that reflects the expectation of tips, not a licence to count tips as wages.
