Saskatchewan has one flat rate and no special rates at all — no student rate, no youth rate, no server rate, no weekly salesperson rate. Changes are generally announced on or before 30 June and take effect the following 1 October. Some occupations are fully exempt from minimum wage rather than paid a lower one: farm, ranch and market-garden labourers, some in-home care providers, sporadic babysitters, athletes while competing, non-profit volunteers, and people with a disability in a non-profit therapeutic or rehabilitative programme.

What is reporting-for-duty pay in Saskatchewan?
If you physically report for work you are owed a minimum of three hours’ pay at your hourly wage, even if you are sent home after ten minutes.
It drops to a one-hour minimum for students working within the school term, school bus drivers employed by a school board, and noon-hour supervisors. Full three-hour rules apply to those employees during school breaks. Overtime call-ins are treated separately.
Which Saskatchewan workers are exempt from minimum wage?
Farming, ranching and market-garden labourers; some care providers employed in private homes; babysitters where the work is very temporary or sporadic; athletes while engaged in their sport; volunteers for non-profits; and people with a physical or mental disability working for a non-profit in an educational, therapeutic or rehabilitative programme.
These are full exemptions, not reduced rates.
