Inputs

The City issues three types of DineSafe notices.

Result

Choose a notice type to see what it means.

toronto.ca: search all DineSafe inspected establishments by name, address and more.

What DineSafe covers

Toronto Public Health inspects eating and drinking establishments under the Ontario Food Premises Regulation (493/17). The City says the details of inspections from the past two years are reported on its DineSafe site and can be downloaded from the City's open data server. Every establishment must continually and prominently post its most recent notice, unaltered, at or near the main entrance.

Three infraction levels

The City classifies infractions as crucial, significant or minor. The notice type follows from the most serious findings: only minor or none gives a Pass; significant infractions give a Conditional Pass with a re-inspection in 24 to 48 hours; uncorrected crucial infractions give a Closed notice.

Guide only — not an official lookup

Inspection outcomes change; the posted notice and the City search are the only current record. This page does not query any government or municipal system and is not affiliated with one; nothing you type is transmitted anywhere. Always confirm on the official service linked above.
