RCDSO dentist search.
Want to confirm an Ontario dentist is registered? The RCDSO runs the public Find a Dentist register. This page explains what is on it and links straight to the search. It does not search for you.
Use the official register for the answer: Use RCDSO’s Find a Dentist search for the actual record. This page is a guide and cannot confirm that any dentist is registered or in good standing.
Who is on the RCDSO register
RCDSO says its online Register holds information about every dentist licensed to practise dentistry in Ontario, as well as dentists previously licensed by the College.
RCDSO lists the following among the information on its Register:
- Name and office information
- Specialized permits and authorization, and registration status
- Qualifications and academic history
- Terms, conditions and limitations on a licence
- Allegations and findings of professional misconduct, incompetence or incapacity, and criminal findings of guilt or current charges
- Cautions and Specified Continuing Education or Remediation Program outcomes issued on or after 1 October 2015
RCDSO says findings of professional misconduct from 2000 to the present appear on the Register, and that you should contact the College about any published findings made before 2000.
Check a dentist in Ontario
Open the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario register in a new tab. The College’s result, not this page, is the authoritative record.
Why you’d check a dentist’s registration
Common reasons: choosing a new dentist, checking who holds a specialist permit before a referral, confirming a clinic’s dentist is licensed after moving, or checking whether any terms or limitations apply to a licence.
Before you search
- Have the full legal name as printed on a receipt, licence or letter, and any other name the person uses.
- Note the city or clinic, which can help separate people with common names.
- If the register returns nothing, try other spellings and ask the RCDSO directly before drawing any conclusion.
What a register result can and cannot tell you
A register entry reflects what the College holds on the date you look. It does not rate quality of care, and it is not a recommendation. If something looks wrong or out of date, contact the College.

Guide only — not a verification tool
This page does not check anyone’s registration, does not copy or proxy the RCDSO register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Use the official register linked above, and contact the College if you have a concern. Information was read from the College’s public pages in October 2026 and may change.
