Worked example

A 34 in bust matches the size 4 bust (34 in), and 38 in hips match size 6 (38.5 in, within the 0.25 in tolerance). The top is US 4 / UK 8 / EU 34 / AU 8 and the bottom is US 6 / UK 10 / EU 36 / AU 10, so buy separates.

How it works

The chart uses the body measurements in Jovani's published women's size chart, US 0 to 24 in even sizes. It is a dress chart, not a swimwear chart. A top is sized from the bust and a bottom from the hips, taking the smallest size whose measurement is at least yours (within 0.25 in). US to UK is +4, US to EU is +30 and AU follows UK, the common retail conversion.

If top and bottom come out at different sizes, buy them as separates. One-piece swimsuits fit torso length as well, so a long torso often needs the next size or a tall cut.

Swimwear brands have their own charts and stretch levels. This is a starting point; the brand chart wins.
