Worked example
Leave at 17:30 with a 15-minute buffer. Steps: shower 30 min, hair 60, makeup 45, nails and lashes setting 20 (at the same time as makeup), get dressed 15, photos 20. The steps total 190 minutes, but the 20 overlap with makeup, so the plan is 170 minutes plus the buffer. Start at 14:25: shower 14:25, hair 14:55, makeup 15:55, dress 16:40, photos 16:55 to 17:15.
How it works
The steps run in the order listed and the tool counts backward from your leave time minus the buffer. Each step starts when the one before it ends. A step marked at the same time as the step above shares that step's window, so the pair takes only as long as the longer of the two. Leave a step blank or at 0 to skip it.
If the start time falls before midnight the result says "day before". The minutes are your own estimates; nothing here is a standard, so time your usual hair or makeup once and use that. If you are booked with a stylist or makeup artist, use the time they give you and put their appointment as the matching step.

FAQ
How long does it take to get ready for prom?
It depends on hair, makeup, nails and photos. There is no standard, so enter your own minutes for each step and the tool adds them up.
What time should I start getting ready?
The result shows it: your leave time, minus a buffer, minus the steps. Change any step and the start time moves.
Can two steps happen at once?
Yes. Tick the box on the second step and it shares the window of the step above, for example nails drying while makeup is done.
What if I have a salon appointment?
Enter the appointment length as the hair or makeup step and add travel time as its own step before it.
Is anything stored?
