Worked example
A task that needs 4 hours (240 minutes) with 25-minute pomodoros needs 240 / 25 = 9.6, rounded up to 10 pomodoros, which is 250 minutes of focus and 10 spare minutes. With 5-minute short breaks and a 20-minute long break after every fourth pomodoro there are 7 short breaks (35 minutes) and 2 long breaks (40 minutes), because no break is added after the last pomodoro. Total time on the clock is 250 + 75 = 325 minutes (5 h 25 min), so a 09:00 start finishes at 14:25.
How it works
Pomodoros = task minutes / pomodoro length, rounded up. After each pomodoro except the last comes a short break, or a long break after every set of pomodoros you choose (four by default). Elapsed time = pomodoros x length + all breaks.
The defaults follow the usual description of the method: intervals of about 25 minutes, a short break of 5 to 10 minutes, and a longer break of 20 to 30 minutes after four. All of them are editable, and a break of 0 minutes is allowed. The method itself is a way of working, not a standard, and these lengths are a starting point rather than a requirement.

Sources and basis (checked 2026-10-08): Pomodoro Technique, Wikipedia (opened 2026-10-08), which describes intervals typically 25 minutes, a short break typically 5 to 10 minutes, and after four pomodori a long break typically 20 to 30 minutes. Everything else is arithmetic on the numbers you enter.
FAQ
How many pomodoros do I need for a task?
Divide the task time in minutes by the pomodoro length and round up. A 4-hour task at 25 minutes per pomodoro needs 10 pomodoros.
How long is a pomodoro?
The usual description is about 25 minutes, but the length here is editable from 5 to 120 minutes.
How long are the breaks?
A common description is a short break of 5 to 10 minutes and a long break of 20 to 30 minutes after four pomodoros. The defaults here are 5 and 20 minutes and you can change both.
Is there a break after the last pomodoro?
No. The plan ends when the last pomodoro ends, so the finish time does not include a trailing break.
Why is my last pomodoro partly empty?
The task time is rounded up to whole pomodoros. The calculator shows the spare minutes so you can decide whether to shorten the last one.
