Worked example
A 60 ml bottle used at 1 ml twice a day is 2 ml a day, so it lasts 60 / 2 = 30 days. At $20 a bottle that is $0.67 a day, about $20.29 a month and 12.2 bottles a year. A 180 ml three-month pack at the same dose lasts 90 days.
How it works
days per container = container size / (amount per application x applications per day). Cost per month = price / days x 30.44. Bottles per year = 365.25 / days.
The tool uses the dose you type and does not recommend one. For reference, US over-the-counter Rogaine solution labelling directs 1 ml applied twice a day, a total of 2 ml a day, and says not to use more or more often. Foam and women’s products have different directions, so read your own label. If your daily amount is above 2 ml the tool shows a reminder.
Real bottles last a little longer or shorter than the arithmetic because of spills, dropper size and the dead volume left in the bottle.

How long does a 60 ml bottle of minoxidil last?
At 1 ml twice a day, 30 days. A 3-month pack of three 60 ml bottles lasts about 90 days.
How many ml of minoxidil per day?
Follow your own label or prescriber. US OTC solution labels direct 1 ml twice a day. This tool does not recommend a dose; it only works out how long a container lasts at the one you enter.
Why does my bottle run out sooner than the tool says?
Spills, a dropper that delivers more than 1 ml and applying more than the label directs all shorten it. Using more than directed does not help and is not recommended.
How do I work out cost per month?
Price divided by days per container, times 30.44. Enter the price to see it.
Does this work for foam?
Yes. Enter the can size in grams and the amount per application in grams as shown on the label, for example the weight of half a capful.
