What do I need on my final exam calculator.
Tell it your grade so far and how much the final is worth. It shows the score you need to reach a target, and whether that target is still possible.

Score needed on the final

How the needed score is calculated
A course grade is a weighted average, and the weights add up to 100%. If the final is worth w (as a fraction) and your current average on everything else is c, your course grade is c × (1 − w) + f × w, where f is your final score. Solving for the score that reaches a target t:
f = (t − c × (1 − w)) ÷ w
In list mode, c × (1 − w) is replaced by the sum of each assignment's weight times its score, so your assignment weights plus the final's weight must total 100%. If the result is above the highest score you can earn, the target is out of reach. If it is zero or below, you already have it.
The four preset rows use the Ontario provincial levels, which are one school system's scale. Your school may set its letter cutoffs differently, so use your own target above if they differ. Check your course outline for the final's actual weight, and for any rule that you must pass the final itself.
