Georgia bar member directory lookup.

To verify a Georgia lawyer, use the State Bar of Georgia’s Member Directory. This page explains where its “public discipline” line appears and what the Bar says about referrals.

Use the official register for the answer: the State Bar of Georgia record is authoritative, and this page cannot confirm anyone’s licence or standing. Open the register below, compare the details with the person who contacted you, and confirm with the regulator if anything does not match.

How the GA register is searched and what it shows

How the register is searched:

  • The directory has a basic Search and an Advanced Search. This page cannot confirm whether either accepts a bar number; the directory’s own form shows the fields. Searching by name works for the discipline route the Bar describes.

What the regulator says it shows:

  • The Bar describes the directory as the place to find a lawyer’s public discipline: open the lawyer’s information and look beside “public discipline”.
  • If the lawyer has no public discipline history, the Bar says the site shows “none on record”; otherwise a “history on file” link leads to posted Supreme Court orders.

The bar number in Georgia

The Bar pages reviewed give no bar-number search instructions and no fixed format. Rely on the name and the directory entry, and ask the Membership Department if in doubt.

Where to find discipline records

Use the “public discipline” line on the directory entry. The Bar’s Recent Attorney Discipline page lists discipline from only the last six months and sends readers to the Member Directory for older orders.

Limits to keep in mind

This page does not validate a number’s format or check a number against any list; only the official register can do that.
