Method and limits
Rates. In US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central) and Europe (Ireland) the AWS Price List lists data transfer out to the internet at $0.09 per GB up to 10 TB, $0.085 per GB for the next 40 TB, $0.07 per GB for the next 100 TB and $0.05 per GB beyond 150 TB (tiers are defined in GB, 1 TB = 1,024 GB). Data transfer in is $0. Optional GET requests are priced at the S3 Standard request rate for the region.
Free allowance. AWS gives the first 100 GB a month of internet data transfer out free, shared across all services. This page takes the 100 GB off first and applies the tiers to what is left. If your account already uses the 100 GB elsewhere, switch the allowance off.
Not included. Transfer to another AWS region, transfer through CloudFront (see the CloudFront comparison), storage, PUT requests, taxes and private pricing. Transfer from S3 to EC2 in the same region and from S3 to CloudFront is not charged.

Yes. The AWS Price List shows $0 per GB for data transfer in from the internet.
Is S3 to EC2 or S3 to CloudFront transfer charged?
Not when it stays in the same AWS region or goes to CloudFront, according to the Amazon S3 pricing page. Only data that leaves for the internet or another region is charged.
How does the average cost per GB fall as volume grows?
With the free allowance, 100 GB costs $0.00 and 10 TB costs $912.60, while 50 TB costs $4,394.70, an average of $0.09 per GB, because higher tiers are cheaper per GB.
How can I lower S3 egress costs?
