Time unit conversion factors
The factors are 1 minute = 60 seconds, 1 hour = 3,600 seconds and 1 day = 86,400 seconds (24 x 3,600), as listed in NIST's SI conversion table. A week is 7 days, or 604,800 seconds. Convert any input to seconds first, then divide by the target unit.
Worked example. 90 minutes is 5,400 seconds, 1.5 hours and 0.0625 days. A larger one: 100,000 seconds is 1 day (86,400 s) plus 13,600 s, which is 3 hours 46 minutes 40 seconds, so 1 d 3 h 46 min 40 s.
Why no months or years. Months and years are not fixed lengths (28 to 31 days, 365 or 366 days), so they are left out. For calendar spans between two dates use the business days calculator or the day of the year calculator. The breakdown rounds the total to the nearest whole second.
