FHSA limits
| Rule | Amount |
|---|---|
| Participation room in the year you open your first FHSA | $8,000 |
| Lifetime FHSA limit | $40,000 |
| Contributions and RRSP transfers | Share the same participation room in a calendar year |
The FHSA annual amount applies to contributions and RRSP-to-FHSA transfers combined. CRA’s own examples show a person who contributes $500 and transfers $7,500 reaching exactly the $8,000 room for that year.
