Danish CVR number validator.
Check an 8-digit Danish CVR number (also the DK VAT number): length, leading digit and modulus-11 check. Format and checksum only.
How it works: a CVR number has 8 digits and does not start with 0. Multiply the digits by 2, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and add them; a valid number gives a sum divisible by 11. The Danish VAT number is DK followed by the CVR number.

How the CVR number is built
The Danish Central Business Register (CVR) number has 8 digits. The Danish Business Authority does not publish the check arithmetic on a page this tool could cite, so the rule and weights below come from python-stdnum, which treats the eighth digit as a modulus-11 check.
| Digit | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weight | 2 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
Worked example from python-stdnum: 13585628 gives 1×2 + 3×7 + 5×6 + 8×5 + 5×4 + 6×3 + 2×2 + 8×1 = 143 = 13 × 11, so it passes; 13585627 gives 142 and fails. A number with a leading 0 is rejected.
CVR and DK VAT
The Danish VAT (moms) number is DK followed by the 8 digits, so a DK-prefixed number is checked the same way. For other EU countries try the EU VAT number validator.
Format and checksum only — not a registry lookup
A passing result does not show the company exists or is VAT-registered. Nothing is sent from your browser.
Danish CVR Number FAQ
How many digits is a CVR number?
Eight. The Danish VAT number is the letters DK followed by the same eight digits.
How is the CVR check done?
Multiply the eight digits by 2, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, add them, and check that the total divides evenly by 11.
Can this tell me whether a Danish company is active?
No. It only checks the number’s structure. Use the official CVR register at datacvr.virk.dk to look a company up.
Official register
To confirm a number is real, use the official source: Virk CVR register (Danish Business Authority). Search the official CVR register to confirm a company exists; this page never queries it.

Privacy and scope
This tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is transmitted, stored, or logged, and it queries no government or commercial register. It checks format and checksum only and does not imply any official verification. Do not enter identity numbers belonging to other people that you have no reason to hold.
