Birthday party cost per child = total cost / child guests. A party with 12 children and 6 adults costing $692 in all works out to $57.67 per child and $38.44 per guest.
Arithmetic only. No party prices are built in; every figure comes from the quotes and costs you enter.
Worked example
12 children and 6 adults. Venue $250, cake $60, entertainer $150, decorations $40, food $8 per child and $6 per adult, favours $5 per child. Food is $132 and favours $60; the fixed costs (venue, cake, entertainment and decorations) are $500, 72.3% of the bill. The total is $692.00: $57.67 per child guest, or $38.44 per guest across all 18.
How it works
Food = food per child x child guests + food per adult x adults. Favours = favour x child guests. Fixed costs are the venue, cake, entertainment, decorations and other costs. Total = fixed + food + favours. Per child = total / child guests. Per guest = total / (children + adults). Fixed share = fixed / total.

FAQ
How much does a kids' birthday party cost?
It depends on the venue, the food and the guest list, so enter your own quotes. This calculator adds them and divides by the guests.
How do I work out cost per child?
Add every cost (venue, food, cake, entertainment, favours, decorations) and divide by the number of children invited. Adults' food is included in the total, so the per-child figure shows the whole bill spread over the children.
What is the difference between cost per child and per guest?
Per child divides the whole bill by child guests only. Per guest divides it by children plus adults.
How can I see what is fixed and what changes with guest count?
The fixed share shows how much of the bill is venue, cake, entertainment and decorations. Food and favours rise with each extra guest.
Should the birthday child be counted?
Count them as a child guest if you want the per-child figure to include them; this page assumes so.
