UGC rates
UGC rate calculator.
UGC creators sell content, not audience, so the honest starting point is your time. Enter your hours, the hourly rate you want and any usage terms to get a quote, or switch to a flat offer and see what it pays per hour.
Quote = (hours x hourly rate + expenses + usage fee) x (1 + exclusivity + rush). With 7 hours at $40 an hour, $25 of expenses and three months of usage at 30% a month, the example quote is $579.50.

Worked example
A video takes 2 hours to shoot, 3 to edit, 1 for revisions and 1 for admin: 7 hours. At $40 an hour that is $280, plus $25 of props and shipping, so the base fee is $305.00. Three months of usage at 30% of base per month adds $274.50. The quote is $579.50, which pays $79.21 an hour after expenses.
Reverse mode: a brand offers a flat $350 and you spend the same 7 hours. With no platform fee that leaves $325 after expenses, or $46.43 an hour, $6.43 below the $40 you wanted. The flat quote you would need is $305.00.
How it works
Add every hour the job really takes, including revision rounds and the time spent on messages, before you multiply by the hourly rate you want. The base fee also carries your out-of-pocket costs so the quote does not shrink once you pay for props or shipping.
Usage rights are priced as a percentage of the base fee per month of use, or as a flat fee. The percentage is your decision. Vendors publish different habits, for example one calculator multiplies the base by a percentage for each 30-day period; those are examples of a method, not market rates. Exclusivity and rush are added as multipliers on top.
The platform or agency fee is taken from what you receive. If you sell through a marketplace that keeps a share, enter it so the net per hour is what lands in your account. Fee of 100% or more is rejected because nothing would be paid.
Results vary. This model uses the assumptions you type in; it is not a prediction, a quote anyone has agreed to, or a promise of earnings. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored.
Methodology
The calculator is plain arithmetic on your inputs. base = hours x hourly + expenses; usage = base x usage% x months (or the flat fee you enter); quote = (base + usage) x (1 + exclusivity% x exclusivity months + rush%); received = quote x (1 - fee%); effective hourly in reverse mode = (flat quote x (1 - fee%) - expenses) / hours. Negative numbers and non-numeric input are rejected, zero hours returns a message instead of dividing by zero, and money is rounded to cents only at the end.
What this does not cover
- What any particular brand will agree to pay.
- Income tax, self-employment tax or sales tax on your fee.
- The value of the audience, since UGC is priced on work, not followers (see the influencer sponsored post rate calculator for audience pricing).
- Contract wording; read the ugc contract terms explained page and get legal advice for real contracts.

FAQ
How much should I charge for a UGC video?
There is no single correct rate. A time-based starting point is hours worked times the hourly rate you want, plus expenses and any usage fee. This calculator does that arithmetic with your numbers.
Do I charge for usage rights separately?
Many creators quote usage separately from creation because the brand is paying to run the content, not only to receive it. The percentage or flat fee is a negotiation, so the calculator treats it as your input.
What is an effective hourly rate?
It is what a job pays per hour after platform fees and expenses once you count every hour, including revisions and admin. Reverse mode computes it from a flat quote.
Are the vendor examples a market rate?
No. Vendor calculators and guides publish their own ranges, which differ from each other. They are shown only as labelled examples of how the method works.
Do I need followers to charge for UGC?
UGC is content the brand posts or runs itself, so pricing by hours and usage does not depend on your audience size. A job that also posts to your own audience is a different, audience-priced deal.
