Freelancers · International payments

International transfer comparison.

Put each option's fixed fee, percentage fee and offered rate side by side for the same amount. The one that delivers the most per unit you pay comes out on top.

Compare received / total paid, not the fee line alone. On 1,000 at a 1.30 mid-market rate, a 1% fee at the full 1.30 rate lands 1,287.00, beating a lower fee at 1.295 (1,283.35) and a no-fee option at 1.27 (1,270.00). Example inputs only.

Worked example

Worked example. Send 1,000 with a mid-market rate of 1.30. Option A: 1% fee, rate 1.30, delivers 1,287.00. Option B: 5 + 0.4% fee, rate 1.295, delivers 1,283.35. Option C: no fee but rate 1.27, delivers 1,270.00. The "free" option is the most expensive by 17.00 against A, because its cost sits inside the rate. All fees and rates are example inputs.

How it works

For each option the page works out the fee (fixed + percentage), converts what is left at the offered rate (or the full amount if the fee is charged on top) and reports the amount that arrives. To make options fair when one charges fees on top and another takes them from the amount sent, ranking uses received / total paid: the amount delivered per unit you pay out of pocket.

The "less than the best" figure scales the best option to the same payment, so it shows how much more the recipient would have received for the same money. It does not include speed, transfer limits, receiving-side deductions or whether a provider is available for your route, which can matter more than a small cost difference. Add any known bank deduction on a single transfer with the Wise fee calculator.

Providers publish their own fee tables, and the amounts differ by route, payment method and size, so none is built in. This page is not affiliated with Wise, PayPal, Payoneer or any bank. Their names appear only to say which fee schedules you can copy numbers from.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored. This is an estimate for planning, not tax, legal or financial advice.

FAQ

Is Wise cheaper than PayPal or a bank?

It depends on the route, the amount and the day. Enter each provider's current fees and offered rate from their own pricing pages and compare what arrives. This page makes no claim about any provider.

Why does a "no fee" transfer cost more?

Because the cost can sit in the exchange rate. A rate 2% below mid-market costs 2% whatever the fee line says.

What should I compare on, fee or amount received?

Amount received for the amount you pay. That is the only number that includes fees and the exchange rate together.

Does this include transfer speed or limits?

No. Only cost. Speed, limits, availability and receiving-bank deductions are separate considerations.
