Creator income · Payment timing
First payout timeline calculator.
See how many months of earnings it takes to reach your payout threshold, and in which month the money lands once YouTube finalises it.
Months to threshold = ⌈(threshold − balance) ÷ monthly earnings⌉. YouTube finalises a month’s earnings between the 7th and 12th of the next month and pays between the 21st and 26th if the balance has reached your threshold. Example: $30 a month and a $100 threshold takes 4 months, paid in month 5.

Worked example
Earning $30 a month toward a $100 threshold: after month 1 the balance is $30, after month 2 $60, month 3 $90 and month 4 $120, so four months of earnings clear the threshold. Because each month is finalised in the following month, the money is finalised between the 7th and 12th of month 5 and paid between the 21st and 26th of month 5: $120 in one payment. Month 5’s earnings start the next balance.
How it works
- Months to threshold = ⌈(threshold − starting balance) ÷ monthly earnings⌉. Zero or negative earnings return “never”.
- YouTube Help says finalised earnings for the previous month are added to your AdSense balance between the 7th and 12th, and payouts happen between the 21st and 26th if the balance has reached the local threshold and the account has no holds.
- The chart pays out the whole balance each time it is above the threshold, which is a simplification; real payouts can be delayed by holds, tax-information or address-verification issues.
If you do not know your monthly earnings yet, use the views to first payout calculator to start from views and RPM. Once paid, plan your tax set-aside.
What this does not cover
- Your local payment threshold (you enter it; check AdSense help for your currency).
- Eligibility for the YouTube Partner Program, holds, PIN verification and bank transfer times.
- Forecasting earnings: monthly earnings are an assumption you type.
- Other platforms’ schedules, which differ.

Frequently asked questions
How long until I get my first YouTube payment?
It depends on your monthly earnings and your payout threshold. Months to threshold = ceil((threshold − balance) ÷ earnings); then add one month for finalisation, since earnings are finalised the following month.
What dates does YouTube pay?
Per YouTube Help, earnings for the previous month are finalised between the 7th and 12th and paid between the 21st and 26th, provided your balance has reached the threshold and there are no holds.
What is the YouTube payment threshold?
It is the local amount your AdSense balance must reach; it varies by currency. Enter yours; this page does not assume one.
What if I earn $0 or less?
The balance never reaches the threshold and the page says so rather than showing a date.
Does the money roll over if I miss the threshold?
Finalised earnings stay in your balance until it reaches the threshold. This model carries the balance forward each month.
