Candle makers
Candle wax & fragrance oil calculator.
Enter your container size, how full you fill it and the fragrance load you want. You get grams of wax and fragrance oil per candle and for the whole pour.
Fragrance oil weight = wax weight x load %. A candle that weighs 200 g when filled at 8% load holds about 185 g of wax and 15 g of fragrance oil, because the load is measured against the wax alone.

How the amounts are worked out
The tool converts the container to millilitres, multiplies by your fill level and wax density to get the finished fill weight, then splits that weight between wax and fragrance so that fragrance is exactly your chosen percentage of the wax. A pour allowance is added to the totals only.
Fill level matters: filling to the rim wastes wax and leaves no room for a wick trim, so most makers leave some headroom. Your wax supplier states the highest fragrance load that wax is meant to carry, and different waxes differ. Set the load to that guidance, not to a number from a calculator.

FAQ
How do I calculate fragrance oil for candles?
Multiply the weight of the wax by the fragrance load percentage. For 500 g of wax at 8%, that is 40 g of fragrance oil. This tool does it from your container size so you do not have to weigh first.
What fragrance load should I use?
Use the maximum your wax supplier states for that wax, or less. The right level depends on the wax and the fragrance, so this calculator leaves the percentage to you.
Is the load a percentage of wax or of the whole candle?
By common candle-making convention it is a percentage of the wax weight. Some suppliers quote it differently, so check which basis yours uses.
