New York real estate license lookup through eAccessNY.

The New York Department of State licenses real estate salespersons and brokers, but they are not in the general Licensee Search. This page shows where to look instead.

Short answer: go to eAccessNY and choose Public License Search. The Department of State’s general Licensee Search does not list real estate brokers and salespersons. This page does not look anyone up.

Where New York real estate licences are searched

The Department of State’s Licensee Search page states: “To search for Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons licenses, you must go to eAccessNY and select Public License Search.” Its own searchable list covers other licence types such as Home Inspection and Real Estate Appraiser.

The Department also publishes an Active Real Estate Salespersons and Brokers dataset on the Open NY portal, which can be browsed, filtered and exported.

On its Real Estate Salesperson page, the Department says a salesperson works under the supervision of a licensed broker and cannot operate independently, and that the term of licensure is two years.

Check the broker too

Because a salesperson cannot operate independently, also confirm the supervising broker named for the salesperson.

Format

This page publishes no licence-number format or check-digit rule, because none is documented on the Department of State pages used here.

This page describes official registers and links to them. It does not check anyone’s licence status, does not copy or proxy any register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. Registers change and licensing rules differ by state and city; use the official source linked above and contact the regulator to confirm anything that matters.
