What this calculator does
Magnetic one-touch holders are sold by a number followed by pt, and one buying guide explains that the number is the interior opening in thousandths of an inch, so sizes work the same way as toploaders. That makes the choice a matter of measuring: take the thickness of the card or the card plus its insert, convert it to points, and pick the smallest holder that is at least that thick. This tool does the conversion and the comparison.
Wargamer measured standard Pokemon cards at 0.01 to 0.03 inches thick, which is 10 to 30 pt, so a single card can land on either side of the thinnest holder sizes. Measure your own card with calipers rather than trusting a category label. Retailers differ in which sizes they stock, so the size list is editable.
Worked example
A card measured at 0.020 in is 20 pt. The smallest size in the list that opens at least 20 pt wide is 23 pt, with 3 pt to spare. A relic-style card measured at 0.060 in is 60 pt, and the next size up is 75 pt, with 15 pt of room. The guide describes 23 pt as thin TCG cards, 35 pt as the default for standard base cards and 75 pt for thick chrome and light relics.
How it is calculated
Thickness in points = inches x 1000, or millimetres / 25.4 x 1000. Total = thickness x cards + extra. The result is the smallest size in your list that is greater than or equal to the total. If nothing in the list is big enough the page says so. The default list (23, 35, 75, 100, 130, 180, 260 pt) is the size table in The Card Shop Finder's one-touch guide. Last checked 2026-10-26. We could not open the manufacturer's own size chart, so confirm the opening on the package.
What this does not cover
- Opening size is not the same as outside size; holders of the same pt differ slightly between brands.
- Sizes not in the default list, such as 55 pt, can be typed into the list.
- A snug fit matters for display; a holder far larger than the card lets it slide around.
- Graded slabs are not one-touch holders and are not covered.

Frequently asked questions
What does pt mean on a one-touch?
Points. The number is the interior opening in thousandths of an inch, so a 35 pt holder opens 0.035 inch wide, the same convention as toploaders.
What size one-touch fits a standard trading card?
Per the guide cited below, 35 pt is the default for standard base cards and 23 pt suits thin TCG cards. Measure your card: Wargamer found Pokemon cards between 0.01 and 0.03 in (10 to 30 pt).
What size do I need for a thick or relic card?
The guide lists 75 pt for thick chrome and light relics, 100 pt for standard memorabilia and 130 pt for patch cards. Measure the actual card and use the finder.
How do I convert millimetres or inches to pt?
Multiply inches by 1,000, or divide millimetres by 25.4 and multiply by 1,000. A 0.5 mm card is about 19.7 pt.
Can I put a sleeved card in a one-touch?
Add the sleeve thickness in the extra box so the total includes it. If the total is over a size by even a few pt, take the next size up.
