Anagram solver.
Type letters, a word or a phrase to find words that use every letter exactly once. Optionally search for two- and three-word anagrams. Words come from the ENABLE word list, so results depend on that list rather than on a particular game.

How the anagram search works
An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of a different word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly once. The single-word search sorts your letters and returns every list word with the same sorted letters. The multi-word search looks for combinations of two or three list words that use every letter exactly once; each result is shown in alphabetical order, so "a b" and "b a" are one result, and results are limited to 200 for speed.
Worked example
"listen" returns 5 other words: elints, enlist, inlets, silent, tinsel. "dormitory" with up to two words returns combinations such as torrid + yom; dirty + moor; dirty + room: the list contains many obscure words, so multi-word results are often odd and you should expect to pick the sensible ones yourself.
Limits
The list is a general English word list, not a dictionary of phrases or names, and it includes rare and inflected forms. Multi-word results use one-letter words only for "a" and "i". The multi-word search stops after a fixed amount of work, so for long phrases it may report that results were cut off.
Word list. Words come from ENABLE (enable1.txt, 172,823 words per the dolph/dictionary README, which also says it is used by Words with Friends; Wikipedia says that game's list is based on ENABLE with additions). We could not find a licence statement on either page, so this is a general-purpose word list, not an official ruling for any game: Scrabble tournaments, Collins and other apps accept different words.

Anagram solver FAQ
What is an anagram?
An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of a different word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly once. For example, listen can be rearranged into silent.
Why are some multi-word results strange?
The ENABLE list includes many rare words, so a search for combinations finds technically valid but unusual results. Pick the ones that read sensibly, or reduce the maximum number of words.
Does this tool send my letters anywhere?
No. The word list is loaded into your browser and the search runs locally. Nothing you type is uploaded.
