How it works
- The .ics download is the only reliably correct way to hand a recurring event to Apple Calendar, Outlook desktop, or any calendar app — it carries a real RFC 5545
RRULE. - Google Calendar's quick-add link also supports recurrence (
recur=RRULE:...), so its link reflects your full repeat rule. - Outlook.com and Yahoo quick-add links have no recurrence parameter in their URL schemes — their links always create a single, one-time event even if you set a repeat above. This is the specific thing most add-to-calendar generators get wrong by silently dropping the recurrence instead of saying so.
