How the T.C. Kimlik No check digits work
A T.C. Kimlik No (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Kimlik Numarası) has 11 digits. The first digit is never 0. The 10th and 11th digits are check digits calculated from the digits before them.

Example: for 17291716060 the first nine digits are 1 7 2 9 1 7 1 6 0. Odd = 1+2+1+1+0 = 5 and Even = 7+9+7+6 = 29, so d10 = (35 − 29) mod 10 = 6. The sum of the first ten digits is 40, so d11 = 0. The check digits are 60.
Checksum only, not an identity lookup
A passing result means the number is internally consistent. It does not confirm that the number was issued, is active, or belongs to a particular person. Confirming that requires the official NVI service, which needs the holder's name and birth year. This tool does not contact it. Only the TC kimlik no (TCKN) is covered here; the Turkish tax number (VKN) is not.
