Bulgarian EGN validator.
Check a Bulgarian EGN (единен граждански номер), the 10-digit personal number. The tool recomputes the check digit and reads the birth date and sex from the code. Format and checksum only.
How it works: multiply the first 9 digits by 2, 4, 8, 5, 10, 9, 7, 3, 6 and take the total mod 11. A remainder of 10 becomes 0. The result must equal the 10th digit.

How the EGN check works

Worked example
7523169263: 7×2 + 5×4 + 2×8 + 3×5 + 1×10 + 6×9 + 9×7 + 2×3 + 6×6 = 234. 234 mod 11 = 3, the last digit. The month field 23 is March plus 20, so the date is 16 March 1875.
Century is hidden in the month
A month field of 21 to 32 means a 1800s birth, 41 to 52 means a 2000s birth. The tool subtracts the offset before it checks that the date exists.
Checksum only, not a register lookup
