Gold silver ratio.
The gold silver ratio is how many ounces of silver buy one ounce of gold. Enter both spot prices to get it, then model a swap: trade your gold for silver now, and back into gold if the ratio moves to a target. Runs in your browser.

Answer
Ratio = gold price / silver price. At $2,000 gold and $25 silver the ratio is 80.0, so one ounce of gold buys 80 ounces of silver. Swapping 10 oz of gold into 800 oz of silver and back into gold at a ratio of 60 gives 13.33 oz of gold, 33.3% more.
Worked example
Gold $2,000.00 and silver $25.00 (examples, not quotes): ratio 2,000 / 25 = 80.0. 10 oz of gold buys 10 x 80 = 800 oz of silver. If the ratio later falls to 60, 800 / 60 = 13.33 oz of gold, a gain of 3.33 oz (33.3%).
How it works
Ratio = gold price per troy ounce / silver price per troy ounce. A swap converts gold ounces to silver ounces at the ratio, and a round trip converts silver ounces back to gold at the target ratio: gold after = gold x ratio / target ratio. If the ratio rises instead, the same arithmetic shows a loss in gold ounces.
What this is not. It ignores dealer premiums and spreads on both legs, which can be larger than the gain, and it assumes the ratio reaches the target, which no one can promise. Spot prices are entered by you. Silver also carries different storage, premium and tax treatment from gold, so check the rules where you live.

FAQ
What is the gold silver ratio?
The number of troy ounces of silver that one troy ounce of gold is worth at spot prices.
How do I calculate it?
Divide the gold price per troy ounce by the silver price per troy ounce.
What does a swap show?
How many ounces of gold you would end up with if you traded to silver at today's ratio and back at a target ratio. It is a model, not a forecast.
Do premiums matter?
Yes. Buying and selling both cost a spread, and a large one can wipe out the gain from a ratio move. This tool shows the spot-only number.
Is a high ratio a buy signal?
This tool makes no recommendation. It only does the arithmetic on prices and ratios you enter.
