Fundraising Goal Per Participant Calculator: how it works
Still to raise = goal minus what you have raised. Only a share of people who sign up usually do the work, so the calculator divides by participants x the share you expect to fundraise. Weekly figures divide by the weeks left; gifts per participant = target / average gift, rounded up.
Worked example. A $10,000 goal with $1,500 raised leaves $8,500. With 25 participants and 80% fundraising, that is 20 active people, so $425.00 each. Over 6 weeks that is $70.83 per person per week, about 17 gifts of $25.00 each.
Be honest about participation. The 80% is an assumption you set; use your own past turnout. This is planning arithmetic and does not predict results.
Frequently asked questions
How do I set a per-participant fundraising target?
Subtract what is raised from the goal and divide by the people who will really fundraise. Here that is $8,500 / 20 = $425.00.
Why not divide by everyone who signed up?
Not everyone who signs up raises money. Dividing by the expected active share gives a target that matches how the work is really shared.
How many gifts is that?
At an average gift of $25.00, each active participant needs about 17 gifts.
What if we have already passed the goal?
The still-to-raise figure shows zero and the page notes nothing more is needed.
