Sales tax registration links by state.
Jump to the official registration site or tax portal for each state, so you sign up on the real agency page instead of a look-alike or reseller.
A guide, not a ruling
This page summarizes what each state tax agency (and the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board) publishes. It does not look anything up from a state system and does not confirm your own obligations. Rules and dollar thresholds change; use the source link on each row and confirm with the state or a tax professional before you rely on it.

Where to register for a sales tax permit
Each link opens the state agency’s own registration or tax-account site. TNAADO does not register you, collect your details or check anything with a state. Some states bundle sales tax with a business license, a gross receipts account or a local program.
Before you register
Have your legal name, EIN or SSN, business address and start date, a description of what you sell and the date you first had nexus in that state. Check the state’s rules on timing, but plan to hold the permit before you start collecting. Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon have no state sales tax permit, and Alaska’s sales taxes are local.
FAQ
How do I register to collect sales tax?
Apply through the state tax agency’s portal or business-registration site. The table links to the official page for each state. You will usually need your business identity, address, start date and what you sell.
Which states have no sales tax permit?
Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon do not have a general state sales tax. Alaska has no state sales tax but allows local sales taxes.
Does registering cost anything?
Fees vary by state; many are free and some charge a permit or bond fee. Check the agency page before paying anyone else to register for you.
Can TNAADO register me?
No. This page only links to official sites. We do not collect your information or submit anything.
When should I register?
Before you start collecting tax in that state, and generally by the date the state says your sales or presence create the obligation. See the thresholds and decision pages for the screening step.
