Required minimum distribution (RMD) calculator.
Estimate the annual required minimum distribution from a traditional IRA or similar owner account using the IRS Uniform Lifetime Table.
For a standard owner-account calculation, the RMD is the prior December 31 balance divided by the IRS table's applicable distribution period. The general required beginning age is 73.

Important RMD boundaries
This page uses Table III, the Uniform Lifetime Table, for a simple owner-account calculation. It does not calculate inherited accounts, a spouse who is the sole beneficiary and more than 10 years younger, or special plan rules. A workplace plan may allow a still-working participant to delay an RMD until retirement if the plan permits it.
The first RMD is generally due by April 1 of the year after the year you reach 73; later RMDs are generally due by December 31. Waiting until April can mean two taxable distributions in the following calendar year.
