Frequently asked questions
Can I search the NMC register by first name only?
No. The NMC says you cannot search using the first name alone. Enter a last name as well or, better, use the PIN.
What does a Caution icon mean?
The person is on the register but has practice restrictions or a caution order.
What does a Negative icon mean?
The NMC uses it for someone suspended or removed since 1 January 2008 who is not currently allowed to practise.
Does this page check the register for me?
