What the result means
USCIS SAVE's April 2025 identifier guide describes an A-Number as six to nine digits and says shorter numbers need leading zeros to make nine digits for verification entry. Current Form I-9 instructions describe the employee-facing field as seven to nine digits. This tool accepts the broader current SAVE range, preserves the digits you entered, and shows the padded nine-digit entry form.
The letter A is a label. The USCIS Number is the same identifier without that letter. For example, A-12345678 becomes display form A-012345678 and USCIS Number 012345678.

Format check, not government verification
No public checksum exists for an A-Number. A valid shape does not prove USCIS issued the number or that it belongs to a person. Compare the result with the original document.
