How the Hebrew day works
A Hebrew day runs from sunset to sunset, so an evening belongs to the next Hebrew date. Tick “after sunset” if the event happened after dark and the tool will use the following Hebrew date. It does not ask for a location, so you decide whether sunset has passed. For a Hebrew to Gregorian result, the daytime falls on the date shown and the evening that begins that Hebrew day is the evening of the previous Gregorian date.
Leap years, Adar I and Adar II
Seven years in every 19-year cycle (years 3, 6, 8, 11, 14, 17 and 19) have 13 months. In those years there are two Adars: Adar I (30 days) and Adar II (29 days). In other years there is a single Adar. Month lengths for Cheshvan and Kislev vary by year, so the day limit shown is the true length for the year you choose.

Conversions use the browser’s built-in Hebrew calendar (ECMA-402 Intl.DateTimeFormat, backed by Unicode CLDR calendar data) and were checked against the Hebcal converter: for example 12 September 2026 is 1 Tishrei 5787. Sources checked 30 September 2026. Supported range is Gregorian 1000 to 9999, using the proleptic Gregorian calendar. Holiday dates and Torah portions are not shown; use a full Jewish calendar for religious observance.
