Quebec Family Allowance calculator.

A genuinely Quebec-specific benefit — Retraite Québec's Allocation famille pays every Quebec family with children under 18, on top of the federal Canada Child Benefit, on a sliding scale by family income.

For 2026: up to $3,068 per child (minimum $1,221), plus up to $1,077 more for a single-parent family (minimum $430) — both reduced by 4% of family income above their own threshold.

How the Family Allowance is calculated

Retraite Québec pays a per-child base amount (maximum $3,068, minimum $1,221 for 2026) that reduces by 4% of family income above roughly $60,200. A single-parent family also gets a flat, per-FAMILY supplement (not per child — maximum $1,077, minimum $430) that reduces by the same 4% above its own, lower threshold of roughly $43,900. This is paid in addition to the federal Canada Child Benefit, not instead of it, and is recalculated every July from your family's actual filed tax return.

Frequently asked questions

Is this instead of the Canada Child Benefit?

No. The Quebec Family Allowance is a separate, additional payment from Retraite Québec, on top of the federal Canada Child Benefit that every Canadian province receives.

Does the single-parent supplement multiply with more children?

No — it's a flat top-up per family, not per child. Only the base per-child amount scales with your number of children.

Why might my real payment differ from this estimate?

Retraite Québec recalculates the exact amount every July from your family's actual filed tax return and posts it to "My Account" in mid-June. This tool's income thresholds are an estimate of the 2026-indexed figures, disclosed in the tool's source module.

Estimate only

The maximum and minimum per-child and single-parent-supplement figures are Retraite Québec's own confirmed 2026 numbers. The income thresholds at which the reduction begins are this tool's own estimate (2026-indexed from Retraite Québec's own published table), not a directly re-published government figure — see the source module for the full working.
