How the cycling chart works
Gear ratio = front chainring teeth ÷ rear cog teeth. Wheel speed is cadence multiplied by that ratio, then multiplied by wheel circumference. Gear inches are ratio × wheel diameter.
This is an approximate gearing chart. Actual speed changes with tyre size, tyre pressure, drivetrain losses, and your riding position; the input wheel diameter is treated as an outside diameter.
