How does the fence calculator estimate posts?
It divides the total fence length by the selected post spacing, rounds up, adds one end post, then adds one post for each gate entered.
How are fence pickets calculated?
The calculator converts the fence length to inches, divides it by the selected picket width plus gap, and rounds up to a whole picket.
Does the fence estimate include gates?
Yes. Enter the number of gates and the result adds one post per gate. It does not subtract a gate opening from the picket count.
How does the calculator estimate concrete bags?
It calculates the cylindrical post-hole volume, subtracts the square post volume, multiplies by the number of posts and divides by the bag yield you enter. Confirm local frost-depth and footing rules before digging.
