When cubic weight applies

Australia Post says cubic weight is used to account for the space a parcel occupies. For own packaging and other items outside national flat rates, charges are generally assessed on the greater of actual or cubed-weight equivalent. The carrier’s live postage calculator remains authoritative for a quote.
