Singapore UEN format checker.
Test a Singapore Unique Entity Number against the three formats in the government's UEN format annex. The final check letter is shown but not verified, because the algorithm is not published in that document.
Short answer: a UEN is either 8 digits plus a letter (businesses), 4-digit year plus 5 digits plus a letter (local companies), or a letter, 2-digit year, 2-letter entity type, 4 digits and a letter (other entities such as LLPs).

The three UEN formats
The Singapore government's UEN annex sets out the structure of the Unique Entity Number by entity type:
| Entity type | Format | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Businesses (ACRA) | nnnnnnnnX | 12345678A |
| Local companies (ACRA) | yyyynnnnnX | 199012345X |
| All other entities (LLPs, foreign companies, public accounting firms, societies, representative offices, mutual benefit organisations) | TyyPQnnnnX | T08LL1234A |
In the last format, Tyy is the year of issuance, PQ is the entity type, n is a running number and X is the check letter. The annex shows the first letter as T. This tool also accepts S and R as the first letter, which the annex does not list; treat that as a lenient, unconfirmed part of the format check.
Why the check letter is not verified
The annex names the final character a check alphabet but does not give the calculation, and this tool does not guess one. A UEN that matches a format here may still have a wrong last letter.
Format check, not a registry search
To confirm that a UEN is registered and active, search ACRA's records at acra.gov.sg.

FAQ
What does a Singapore UEN look like?
It depends on the entity type: 12345678A for a business, 199012345X for a local company, and T08LL1234A for other entities such as an LLP.
What does the LL in T08LL1234A mean?
The two letters (PQ) give the entity type. The annex uses T08LL1234A as its example for a Limited Liability Partnership, with 08 as the year of issuance.
Does this tool check the last letter?
No. The annex calls it a check alphabet but does not publish the calculation, so the tool checks only the shape.
Did existing ACRA registration numbers become UENs?
Yes for businesses and local companies. The Ministry of Finance says they keep their ACRA Registration Number as their UEN, while other entity types such as LLPs and societies were issued new UENs.
Format only, not a register lookup
This tool tests the structure of the number in your browser. It does not query any register, and a passing result does not show the number was issued or is still active. To confirm that, search ACRA. Nothing you type is transmitted, stored or logged.
