Remittance due date, calculated.

The Remittance Frequency Determiner tells you your CRA remitter type and states the due-date rule in words. This tool takes that remitter type and a date inside your pay period and gives you the actual calendar due date — shifted for weekends and CRA-recognized 2026 public holidays.

Due dates that fall on a Saturday, Sunday, or a CRA-recognized public holiday move to the next business day — this tool applies that shift automatically using CRA's own 2026 holiday list.

The rules

CRA's due-date rule depends on your remitter type: regular remitters owe by the 15th of the following month; threshold 1 owes by the 25th of the same month (for the 1st–15th) or the 10th of the next month (for the 16th–end); threshold 2 owes by the 3rd working day after each of the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month; quarterly remitters owe April 15, July 15, October 15, and January 15.

Whenever any of those dates falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or a CRA-recognized public holiday, the payment is considered on time if received by the next business day. This tool applies CRA's published 2026 public holiday list (New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas, and Boxing Day). It does not apply Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (Quebec only) or the Civic Holiday (excluding Quebec), since those depend on your province and CRA's page does not state that they shift every business's due date nationally.

Frequently asked questions

What if my due date falls in a year other than 2026?

Fixed-date holidays (New Year's, Canada Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Remembrance Day, Christmas, Boxing Day) are still applied, since their calendar date doesn't change. Floating holidays (Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving) are only applied for 2026 — a due date landing in a different year only gets the weekend shift for those, so double-check against CRA's current public holidays page.

Does this apply to GST/HST or corporate tax instalments too?

No, this models payroll source-deduction remittance due dates only. Use this site's separate GST/HST filing frequency and corporate/income tax instalment calculators for those.

I'm in Quebec — does Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day shift my due date?

This tool doesn't apply it, since CRA's own list flags it as Quebec-only rather than a nationwide due-date shift. Confirm with CRA or Revenu Québec if your due date lands on June 24.

Estimate only — confirm with CRA

This tool computes the standard remitter-type due date and shifts it for weekends and CRA's published 2026 public holiday list. It does not model the seasonal/agricultural employer exception, one-off CRA-announced due-date extensions (e.g. disaster relief), or the two province-specific holidays noted above. Confirm your exact due date with CRA or a payroll professional.
