Net worth = total assets minus total debts. The tool compares it with the 2022 Survey of Consumer Finances results by age of the household's reference person, in 2022 dollars.
Medians: under 35, $39,000; 35 to 44, $135,600; 45 to 54, $247,200; 55 to 64, $364,500; 65 to 74, $409,900; 75 or more, $335,600. Means: $183,500; $549,600; $975,800; $1,566,900; $1,794,600; $1,624,100. All families: median $192,900, mean $1,063,700.
Limits: the Fed publishes the age tables rounded to the nearest hundred dollars (thousands with one decimal). The survey measures households, not individuals, and defines assets its own way, so your own total may not be like for like. This is a position against the median, not a percentile.
