Social Security retirement, SSDI and survivor benefits are generally paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday. SSI is generally paid on the first of the month, adjusted when that date is a weekend or federal holiday.

How the Wednesday schedule works
SSA groups most Social Security beneficiaries by the day of the month they were born: the second Wednesday is for birthdays on the 1st through 10th, the third Wednesday is for the 11th through 20th, and the fourth Wednesday is for the 21st through 31st. This is an expected issue date, not a promise from your bank.
If you received Social Security before May 1997, or receive both Social Security and SSI, your payment pattern can be different: SSA generally pays Social Security on the 3rd and SSI on the 1st. Use your my Social Security account if your record does not match this simplified schedule.
