This estimate applies the IRS-style 92.35% net-earnings adjustment, 12.4% Social Security rate up to the 2026 combined wage base, and 2.9% Medicare rate. The optional W-2 input reduces only the remaining Social Security base; Medicare has no wage-base limit.
Official sources: IRS self-employment tax guidance and Publication 15 (2026).
Simplified estimate only
Schedule SE can involve other adjustments, including wages, multiple businesses, Additional Medicare Tax and special rules. This tool does not calculate income tax, state tax, deductions or your final return.
